de-cavitation action generated by ultrasonic cleaners can clean both large and microscopic dirt particles, thus producing a superior shine in diamonds, gold, and other jewelry. |
Steam cleaners are specialized for cleaning large dirt particles and do not

| Preparing Jewelry Prior to Cleaning: |
Place the jewelry cleaning solution and jewelry in the ultrasonic cleaner and press "ON." No other initial preparation required. |
It is recommended for low-end steamers (under $120) to soak jewelry in an ammoniated bath to loosen up dirt prior to steaming. |
| Preparing Machine for Use: |
For ultrasonic cleaners, mix solution once a month and re-use over and over. No need wasting time re-filling and re-mixing solution for every use. Takes 2 minutes to prepare first mix and machine will be immediately ready to use afterwards. |
For steam cleaners, the user must fill the unit with fresh, distilled water every time. It takes about 5 minutes to fill the jewelry cleaning machine (through a funnel) with water, and another
10 minutes for the boiler to generate steam. Total preparation time is
15 minutes. |

Ultrasonic cleaners can be safely stored with the used solution in them, waiting for the next use. |
Steam cleaners must be allowed to cool (20 minute wait), must be emptied (5 minute task), plugged back into power outlet to evaporate any residual water (15 minute wait), and cooled again (another 20 minute wait). Total time to safely store a steam cleaner is
about 1 Hour! |
